It takes a special kind of horse to be a pick up horse. The pickup horses selected are seasoned horses
that know how to rodeo and have spent a lot of time in the arena. Not just any horse can make it as a pickup horse.
A good pickup horse can do it all and the horses being offered in this years sale are a testament to that statement.
Lot #81   -   Grader  -  $8,750.00
10yr Old     -     Gray Gelding

This 2007 model gelding stands 16.1 hands tall. Grader is a big, stout made, flashy registered gray gelding
who hasn't shirked a task we've put in front of him. Scott McCLain picked up bucking horses with him
the first day we got him and we've never looked back. We have since exposed him to all aspects
of being a using horse and college rodeo life.

We pick up bareback and saddle bronc horses with him and he loves to rope bulls, he'll pull anything you tie him to
without effort. We have even goat tied, hazed steers, packed flags for grand entry, sorted bucking horses and bulls,
team roped and flagged team roping on him. He has been used for college equine classes, kid's camps,
public demonstrations and anything we need. Anyone can ride him, gentle, safe, and sound.

This cowboy colored big boned guy is as safe and gentle as any horse you'll ever throw a leg over.
He is a real easy mover and a favorite mount here at the barn.
We hate to see him go, but everyone has to graduate college someday!

Proceeds from the sale of this outstanding gelding will benefit the CNCC Rodeo Team Scholarship Fund.
